It possible that your car as a barometric sensor, either built in with the MAP or seperate... so when you drive to higher/lower altitudes it can compensate for the thinner/thicker (read: more/less dense) air.
BUT... It could be as 2Tone said, that because your O2 is most likely faulty it would be causing u'r barometic sensor to go whacky...
I'm guessing u'r car is probably an OBD II car because it's a '95... and ODB II cars don't like it when sensors fail.
Replace the O2 and check the connection points and go from there.
