Well that depends, if you want to run the computer stock, no. But if you're doing heavy duty overclocking + SLi etc yes. Most powersupplies should have enough molex connectors to feed it. This what keeps the board stable on very high overclocks. You can do 4V through the DRAM on this board without Vmodding, the board is made for overclocking, and for stability at the high OC's requires a ton of power.
FYI when I did one of the X2's, I didn't use the 4 pin floppy power connector, only the molex, 24 pin and 4 pin. And it was perfectly stable @2.8GHZ, mind you I was only running 2.8V through the OCZ EL Platinum Ram (Which is stock Voltage)

Only thing i seen when overclocking (with assistance of my cousin whos really into it) was that on some games, artifacts would arise from the video.... Of course we'd back it off, but i really didnt see that much of a performance increase.
