Well I thought Enermax was a fairly good PS (at least 2 years ago) that's why I bought it. I used to have one of tho's generic super light PS's before that and it was a little flakey... lol

What's the highest stable overclock you can achieve currently? And remember, juicing the ram for the most FSB won't always get you the most performance.

The one I'm running right now 2326... Well... with this one I can play games and everything... I can get more out of it and just use Windows but games it'll let go I'm sure...

If you're CPU is truly unlocked, then you can adjust the multiplier.
|
|
It is... I can go up and down w/ my multiplier. I was quite supprised to see this!

Try something like 14x175 it will still equate to 2450MHZ, but it will give you increased stability. Also disable FSB Spread Spectrum in the advanced bios features (where you adjust your AGP speed and Aperature). Make sure CPU thermal throttling is disabled as well.

Yea, I disabled all the wacky options in the bios... I believe I've tried that combination before to get 2450 MHz, but it wasn't quite stable... but I'm gonna try it again later today...

If what I said works, and you're stable at 2450 MHZ, keep increasing the FSB from 175 each stable boot until you max out your OC. Go up by 1 or 2 FSB per boot and see how it is. And what are your temps currently?
|
|
Well... that's the thing... I'm usually at about 49 idle... I dunno if that high or not... but I do have a good fan and heatsink combo that dropped my temps a lot compared to the old/original one from AMD.
And I usually see w/ this combo while playing a game the temps around 53-54 deg. C.
I'm currently running 1.75 V on my core... been doing that for a while now... do u think that is enough? or too much?
