Yet every serious engine/car builder takes their cars to the track. Yet you don't. While I agree you learn doing things, but you learn a lot more then just 1% from books. Besides... I didn't mean reading a step by step guide... I meant reading the theories BEHIND what you want to do, and then applying it to a real life situation. Otherwise you're going to go through A LOT of trial and error before you get something that works properly.
