93 grand cherokee gvwr 5300lbs . It has a type 3 hitch on it . Is it MTO legal to haul a car about 3400 lbs on a tandem trailer ( w/electric brakes ) with this vehicle . I usually drive to TMP , bu t this yr I want to tow cause i changed a lot of stuff in the engine and i wont have enuff testing time before the sept 10 th meet I,m going to at TMP.
The owners hand book says base vehicle is 3615 lbs .That could be the weight of a two wheel drive one. This one is loaded. Guess I should weigh it and see how heavy it is . Both the dealer and u haul said it would be fine , but i dont want to find out from the MTO guys on the way there.
