As to other ways of promoting the site, as I see it, with everything good that can come out of it, the same amount of bad can come out of it as well. I mean, imho, the more avertising done to promote the site, it will attract more people and possibly more revenue for the site, but in that same aspect you are going to attract more of the people you don't want as well. You take the good with the bad I guess
