Drain the oil, drain the coolant, buy a service manual or get one online, torque wrench and get sandwhich containers, I have taken apart hundreds of motors and put them all back together. The haynes manual is useless compared to a service manual, also as said, dependent on how much you want to take apart, you will need to get a valve spring compressor. But you will never get all the oil/coolant out....
As for transportaion the motor weighs about 120lbs, I can lift them easily myself or just bring a friend to help. You can put a sohc in any car the dimensions are very small, I have fit 3 h22 long blocks in my integra....
