So do customer service agents making $7 bucks and hour. You don't see them going on work to rule. If a cop can't handle a little bit of verbal assault, I'd hate to see him/her in an actual criminal takedown/situation. Not saying that being a cop is an easy job, it's probably one of the hardest jobs out there. When you choose a career path you should know what to expect, especially in law enforcement.
Fix the corruption in the police force and you'll see less "verbal abuse".
