In todays society, the criminals got bigger and badder guns. A friend of mines fathers best friend / partnered was killed on the job in toronto. Stopping a suspicious person WALKING in parkdale. Guy open up with auto gun fire killing him before the car door was even open.... unmarked car as well...
Its not an easy job, you deal with horrible things, many times your hands are tied and you cant do shit. 
I agree, tons of BS tickets for modified cars.... but are we talking people getting tickets for no cats? chopped springs? The police get paid to do a job. Some of them powertrip, some dont. When you see them enforcing the LAW, you cant really complain. |
I won't touch the issue with unions because I for one am against them because IMO they only protect the lazy. If you hate your job, go find another one.
No arguement at all with what you just said regarding cops being underpaid. However, when you chose to be a cop you should know/expect that you will be dealing with the scum of society and it will not be pleasant every day. Whatever they ask for financially they should get, but you dam well know I as a citizen better get what I pay for. I deserve as a citzen to have the focus put on gun toting fu<ktards/child molesters taken off the streets instead of getting pulled over for going 10 over the limit. There are the legit trafiic fines which I agree should be given out (i.e. improperly modded rice rockets etc)
The govt should get off their ass and change the laws to impose MUCH stiffer penalties on violence with guns and violence against women/children. This will better protect the men/women in blue as well as society as a whole. It's the lazy laws we have against violent crimes that allow crimminals to be "more gansta" than ever and have the balls to shoot and kill cops because all they will get is 5 years in jail. I say burn the bastards at the stake and show it on pay per view. Watch how fast the crime rate will go down if you do that.
My issue is with poor response times on emergency calls. I would improve better response times than the usual few hours instead of having cops cars parked on the sidewalk every 100ft pulling people over going 10 over.
