give it time. ya never know.
It took a few days after Katrina hit before it went up. I'm sure it will.

but! i have to say, it wasn't even all that bad. CNN reported Rita didn't even take out the hydro. HAHA. all that time evacuating in some parts, and winds didn't even reach 85 mph in some other parts.
all well. the least hit part is where the oil refineries are, so we might be lucky

I didn't mind everyone getting gas all at the same time, cause the next day I got ultra94 for regular price
Perfect time to fill up

Our gas doesn't even come from there. Our gas comes from Sarnia.

But that doesn't mean oil companies still can't jack it up

The only problem is the oil companies aren't doing it. The gas stations are. Most of the gas you're paying over a dollar for was delivered to the stations before Katrina. All the money that's being paid is going the Bin Ladens, Mohameds, and whoever else is running the gas stations. Yes I know this may seem racist, but I deliver to a pile of gas station, and it's the truth. Not too many of them are owned or run by native canadians. It's sad, but the gas stations are getting away with it because the government doesn't give a shit about the people.
Anyway, before I start getting all bitter this early, I'm just going to fight back my own way. I'm selling my van and getting a TDI jetta. Problem solved. Going from 35 mpg to 70 mpg. See how they like that shit.

^^^ very true. I was watching on the news how the government is trying to fix that problem.
The night it went up from 90.7 to 115.5, it was the same gas as the day before. Not like a truck went to every gas station that night. so the gas we bought yesterday at 90.7 is the same gas we would now be paying the higher price for.
REMEMBER, gas staions only make 3% profit.

comeon boys and girls....didnt we learn anything in ecomonics class??? its all about the supply and demand!

doesnt mean shit that they same tanker they got it originally sold for 90 cents and then jumped up to 115...if the supply is low and the demand is high they you will get them price gouging! its a simple as that.

they anticipated a supply lose and thats what jacked up the prices ...they were right there was a very very small supply shortage its simple business...and i know your goin to say " but we dont get our oil from them " your right a little ...but we sell to them and the price of refined oil went up and next your gonna say "well how come it didnt go up cuz of rita?" well they new that they (being the gas stations) wouldnt get away with such an increase this time
