Got SIRIUS from my gf for Christmas..took it back - drove to buffalo to buy a new one (because 100 and 101 are blocked in Canada) and set it up last night. $152 usd for a full year subscription (incl. reg. fee) and I'm good to go.

Can't wait to hear Stern on Jan 9.

And all the rest of the channels are SICK. There is so much selection.

Holy crap. I guess they weren't expectin that kind of response. It's still retarded that we have to go to the states to hear Stern. Has anyone listened to 97.7 Hitzfm lately? They've stopped editing songs, and I've heard Mr. Brownstone by GNR, and several others, during the day. BUT, we can't PAY to listen to stern. BTW, mr brownstone = "That old man, he's a real mother ****er, gonna kick him on down the line." I know that's edited on here, but that goes out on the radio.

The CRTC censors what we watch more than the FCC. Bell has the brodcasting rights for Sirius in canada. I called Sirius and asked why aren't we get the same programming they have in the US. it's the same shit as TV. Canadian content must be part of it and x% has to be french blah blah.

It's pure bullshit. In Canada even if we PAY for something it's still being censored for content.

And they wonder why the shit gets pirated.

By buying the Sirius recever from the US how are you able to get the US channels/brodcasting? Do you sign the contract at at the store? I was told by Sirius that you need to give them a US mailing address. Can anyone confirm this. Just want to make sure that I don't waste a trip and $$ buying one and finding out I still can't get Howard.

I drove to buffalo, got the american one, gave an american address when buying it. registered online, and it works fine. glad i got to hear (some of) his first show on SIRIUS.

*Apparently* he'll be here within 2 months though - that it's already been signed, it just has to go through.

Even without Howard, the service is still amazing.
