$20 gets you 17.25 litres

Well, the day has arrived now where the display for the $$ moves faster than the /litre display at the gas pumps.

1.15/l for ultra 94 this morning.

Well folks, looks like the SUV's will slowly start disappearing.

Yeah I filled the Rabbit at 1.19 for 94 yesterday, but that tank will last me for 2 weeks if I drive it everyday. 31 km round trip to work and back... love it. It's still a Rabbit even with 2l turbo.

I did some research and race fuel is still much more expensive as an alternative. GT98 unleaded from pro race fuels is 2.15/L.

I guess Toyota Prius sales are gonna see a spike upwards in sales soon.

Good point 600+ kms to the tank will definitely be a highlighted selling feature. I forgot about the commercials VW did for the TDI's.

Depending on your motor, your fuel requirements will depend. If you drive a civic that is stock compression, N/A, etc then regular 87 is all you need. You only need high octabne fuel if you are:

forced induction (running high boost levels)
running higher compression motors (10.5:1 and up)
Manufacturer spec calls for a minimum grade that must be used.

Other than that you really are wasting your money by going with higher octane fuels such as 94.

Sunoco 94 use to be good..

I get crappier MPG with it now that it's 10% Ethanol compared to 91

Ethanol makes less power thus you burn more fuel to compensate

So I'm stuck with 91 which is ok minus the price

I think I'm going to go and find a 1982 Rabbit diesel like my first rabbit. That thing's gas guage hardly even moved. When I had it, I drove 52 kms per day to work, plus all the other shit I used to do, and filled it every pay check. 14 days per tank, and 35 bucks to fill. So now it would cost 50 bucks to fill, but no electronics, and no E-test. only problem, 105 km/h top speed, and 10 min 1/4 mile.
