Anyone have full race cars?

Hey everyone. I was just wondering if anyone else on here has a full drag car or is building one? No street cars just full race cars though. I have a 1992 Civic hatch that I'm building to hopefully compete in next years Cscs all motor class. My budget keeps droping as I build so I can only hope to be out for next year so far. Lol. ANyways post up if you have one as well. Domestic or import as long as she's full drag post up. Post your best times as well if you have them as well.

Yeah it's funney how much funding plays a role in what we build. Lol. It would be so nice to have an endless budget so I could put the car to where I want it instead of where my budget wants it.

I had a race car and let me tell you, if you are not prepared to spend money....and LOTS of it, don't do it. Unless you have sponsors to support your program financially, you'll be hurting (unless your rich). You have to cope with so many things such as breakage (and you WILL break parts/motors etc).

Not to mention it's ALOT of work and you need help from others because you CANNOT do it all yourself. (i.e. help at the track with wrenching etc)

Here's a pic of my former race car below after I just got it painted. (some of you may have seen it before. Protech bought it from me a few years ago and is the current owner if I'm not mistaken). I can tell you that I DO NOT miss it one bit. I much prefer a fast street car than a drag car. Street cars are more fun IMO.

But as said above by 1.5dx2go, only if I had an endless budget would I build a race car and drive the living shit out of it not having to worry about breaking shit.

I have no clue what status the car is in now since I've sold it to them. By looking at ther website the pic of the car on their homepage still looks the same.

My VW was supposed to be a race car. IDRC super street. But after I finished the motor and most of the body and suspension, I found out that they had changed the rules. Nothing older than 1988. So now I drive it to work, and run what you brung.

Hmm, I don't see you need alot of money for a drag car. They are cheap to build. Once you have the shell, the rest is easy. It shouldn't cost no more then $7000 to take your civic to full race car doing 10's. Then depending on how good you are, no more then about another $7000 a year to keep it going with parts.
