Slower 0-60 mph, Faster 1/4 mile.

Is it possible for a car to be relatively faster in the 0-60mph and ultimately slower in the 1/4 mile relative to some other car? I know theoretically it's possible, but can someone prove it to me with an example?

yes especially when you compare different platforms awd to rwd and fwd they all react off the line alot different,

i have moved this to drag racing section seems more relevant there

Isn't it more like, all the overtaking that's done happens BEFORE 60 mph? Can you give me an example?
Also (since I'm being noobish as it is)... what's 1320? heh

1320 is the number of feet in a quarter mile.

lets use tihs as an example.

last year i ran a new wrx. now i came out there with my car the way i drive it every day. i told the guy how to launch his car and he did, rev limiter clutch drop. he put about 4.5 cars on me off the line because hes awd and just hooked and went. i caught him middle of third gear and passed him to win the race. later that nite we did a few hiway rolls and everytime id win becaues his awd would cause him to loose alot of poewr to the ground whereas a 2wd car has no where near the same drivetrain loss.

exactly,
but its not the drivetrain loss that you won by its cause his car didn't have as much power to weight as yours did.

Judge trudy man, I love you. You even bothered to remove the 'dumbass' from your post! I wouldn't have done that if I were you, that 1320 bit would've ticked me off bad. But thanks for your 'judgement', can I just ask, what were YOU driving? And his wasn't the Sti was it?

sorry sweetheart o threw the dumbass in because i thought you were someone else by a similar name and then saw your low post count and removed it.

but i drive a cavalier, stone stock, with no turbo, and no tuning, and no big fule system, and no 260 whp and no 300 wtq, and no short gear bomb proof tranny. none of those

you asked what the 1320 was, so i told you its the distance in a quarter mile, also known as 400 meters, no biggie.

and the wrx that i ran the other year was me just on the motor and just a wrx non sti. but ive taken out a handful of sti's on the hiway the car the car sits now.

oh and if your wondering about my car, heres a little vid of it with no tune at various boost levels.
