IHRA Top fuel

Holy shit! I had been to lots of drag races before, but had never seen Top Fuel rails first hand. All I've got to say is WWWWOOOOOWWWW!!!!! I got home like 20 mins ago from the IHRA Canadian Nats at TMP, and my chest is still vibrating. We got seats in the stands right at the start line, and that rocked. Any one else make it there?

Damn, I LOVE THEM. I was there for about 12 hours yesterday!

What was the fastest they ran today?? Yesterday at about 10 oclock, they ran a 4.50 at 3xx MPH. It was nuts. people were in awe. I got a video of a few top fuel runs.

Anyway, I was there all day eysterday watching all kinds of cars run, top fuel, funny cars, pro stock, pro modified etc. I was a great day.

I was gonna try to go abck today for the finals, but didn't make it. Wish I did! I got weekend passes from my work, so it was even better!

I know what you mean about the vibrations and shit. I've never been to a race or track before, and damn, it aws awesome. I was in the stands right beside the starting line too. I took about 150 pics/vids. might post some. who knows.

Also, they ran the cool bus (runs the 1/4 at 100+mph doing a wheelie) and they had the jet truck. It ran last at about 10:30. Right before it took off, they shut off all the lights in the park, and then it launched down the track. ran a 6.50 I beleive. It was cool.

Did the have the snowmobiles today? They were there yesterday running 8's I think. That was cool too!

haha. great pic.

I think the fastest we saw today was 4.54 so not far off yesterday. But I heard yesterday they were setting records in all different classes. Yeah there were snowmobiles today, but I coerced my way into the Werner vip lounge and my son, my wife and I sat talking to Clay Millican and his family and pit crew, so we missed them. I got an awesome signed Clay Millican poster, pic and VIP pass. But man do the three of us have sunburns.

Yeah I'm blond, my son is blond, and my wife is a red head. Great trio to be outside all day in the sun. The guys sponsored by Tim Hortons were great too. They let us sit beside the top fuel car and have pics taken. We're getting them developed today, so hopefully they turn out. We've got to go digital. This sucks waiting.
I think that's what I heard too. 4 records on Sat. The track temp was probably higher on Sunday. But we didn't care. There were some awesom cars, and the drivers and crews are great when you have a little guy thats almost 3. They let him on every where. He went through trailers, pit areas, sat on the Cool bus, sat IN an alchohol dragster and had a great time. Thanks to all the teams who took time out of their busy schedules. I'm sure my son will appreciate it for a long time.

It was hotter yesterday? Damn. When the clouds weren't blocking the sun, it was sooo hot. We're sitting there sweating lol.
I was gonna hop in the cool bus for a picture with the 'bus driver' (the doll) that was at the front, but decided not to, sice the owners were there and i'm not sure if they'd care that i was in it or not. I shoulda!
Next time I gotta bring a little one, so I get to go all these places! haha. Is your son into cars? or is he not old enoguh for that yet?

Having an almost three year old blond son does have it's advantages. We've pushed him to be polite, and there's no one who can say no to him when he says please. Drives me up the wall sometimes. But we love him. He actually didn't like the Top Fuels when they were launching. I think the noise, and vibration scared him a little, but in the pits, he wanted to climb all over them. I didn't see too many regular cars, but there were a couple of mustangs, a few lincolns, and 1 beautiful 1955 Chevy.

AHh yes, I think I saw that 55 chevy also. On saturday there was a Beretta . Also, there was a black van (looked like it came directly from the movie old school) with slicks and stuff. I got a picture of it on my computer. Then there was a 3.5 Maxima that ran mid 13's, and a Dakota that ran 13's too I think.

I can understand him not liking the top fuel. THey are loud as ****. I've never seen one, and damn, it was surprising.

One of the fuel cars had a 1956 suburban tow car. That thing was mint.
