Not too sure if people are aware yet but the NDRA ( Nopi Drag Racing Association) has decided to allow Mustangs to run in some of their Classes.

I have looked upon this with mixed emotions. For one, i think its taken a long time to get Sport Compact drag racing where it is today, and it might seem like we are taking a few steps back. But on the other hand i feel it fills the fields up and creates some good competition for the top runners! With the right restrictions on the American cars it will make for some awesome passes.

I would like to hear some of your feedback on this ...its a very controversial thing to have done...lets get some chat goin on!!!

Well, it's good and bad. It could be great exposure for the import crowd. But it could just make the import crowd a rowdy cause the Mustangs will whip some ASS!!!!!!!!!

But seriously, I think it is a good thing, because I am sure there are some imports that can kick some serious Mustang Ass. I think the import needs that so they can gain more respect in the automotive world, with the Old School crowd.

They wont see many mustangs out there, the domestics have NMCA/NSCA/PRO/IHRA/NHRA/KOTH/OSCA canada/OSCA states/PSCA on and on and on. NOPI only wants turbo mustangs because the series is dying. The Pro Imports are the only class that will be around in 3 years..and they'll be racing against all motor 800 cubic inch IHRA Pro-Stocks. All the little motor imports will be in the NHRA racing in Comp Eliminator. The "real" NHRA.

They have actually had a great responce from a lot of the 10.5 racers such as Tim Lynch and some of the other southern guys.

drag racing is having some problems right now with support. But what people have to do is support it no matter what! and who knows maybe this kind of combined racing will take off with leaps and bounds.
