But Mark come There is VIN that ford chevy honda and all other cars that are diven in Canada get to have here We can agree on that. Its what is refered to as VIN for your car. Now U can build a Kit car here and get a VIN, U can do a RBT and get a VIN. How do u get a VIN like this? U should Know.
But Build a top fuel rail do u get the same kind of VIN?
Buy race car it dont have a VIN that will be acepted as a VIN for any MTO or MOV in Canada or the US. But its is a Identification number for that car or whatever. Its not a VIN that u would get from Minstry of T now is it.
Its a identification number but its not the same as whats given to cars trucks driven in Canada or US now is it.
I disagree. TAG RACECRAFTs civic came with a vin. And though that supplied VIN is not found anywhere on that car, i bet 100% they retain all paper work for it. Whos to say a kid off the street doesnt call the cops and say "hey look, thats my silver civic right there, look, i have the paper work and vins"... so police investigate and say "prove this is your car"... Civil action would put the burden on TAG if this kid comes with 'reasonable' proof. Not to say this would happen, but i hardly think shops will invest thousands into a car that potentially will be repo'd. But i cant speak on all shops business ethics out there.
So if all these 'race cars' have no ID, maybe ill start picking from the litter next time at the track. Just bring a trailor and say, "yup, thats mine, thats mine and that one" Anyone else up for a shopping spree
OK Tone. Your looking at a car that at one time was a car. It might not have anything left but the body or shape of what a civic was but it can still have vin. Now if say Mel goes out and gets a Tube chassis built say by JoBlow Chassis he will get paper work for the said chassis, He will get a vin number as to identify the said chassis.
Now he has 2 VINs if we play this game now were do MEL stand when asked do u have paper work? He has Paper work for what the car was, He has paper work for what it is now. He has paper work for Motor with a number hidden somewere on it to prove its his.
ACE said a race car dont need a VIN. He is right it dont need to have a VIN that would be used in terms of a car on the street to be regestered as so.
If i go out buy all tubing make a car chassis then go and get a motor and a body i can use the VIN from body as my Vin for this car even with a tube chassis.
But what if i get a fiberglass race body? that dont have a VIN what do i do now?
I can still get a VIN

a VIN has NOTHING to do with a car being registered with the DMV unless you’re plating it. The vehicle identification number, it's a unique, shall we say, DNA sequence for the car in question.
According to the MTO, the car needs a vin. Mels car, needs a vin. As for John Forces car he may be able to get away with off road use. A Ferrari race car, vin, a rail car, no. But as per my buddy crossing the border to race would require calling Canadian Customs and seeing what needs to be produced to cross. Though you may pass with just saying its a race car, they MAY ask you to prove ownership.
Strokerace was referencing his car(s) as the race car. im sure NONE of them are full fiberglass/poly race cars. Im working within the context of what was said. Though i still believe a one off car would stil have to produce some "ownership" paperwork.
i have been around more pro drag cars in the last 4 years then you have in your usless life! fact
you are a redneck!!! when a chassis builder builds a car he numbers his chassis!!! dumb sh!t that in its self is a VIN as long as there is a number on the frame and the builder documents its as such then that is classified as a VIN...go hump a cow hillbilly!!! use your head
Bullshit, there is no chassis builder that numbers the frame you moron. You must of just fell off the tur*** truck to believe or even say that. I can take you to ever car in the cascar, players series and show you that there is no VINs, or numbers on the chassis
Further more to the rest of you idiots out there, VIN stands for Vehicle identiication number. they are for manufactoring purposes. They give you the year of the car, the body style, the engine size. and how many was made in that year.
So Mark, you are wrong, not Randy. You call yourself a tuner and you don't even know this. Which has to be according to law be registered to the ministry. Yes, you make up a number and have it registered for the vehicle. But, if you put a number on a chassis, its not a VIN unless it registered with the MTO, it is how ever what is know as a serial number, which is not controled or tracked by the MTO. Its only use if the moron who built it can tell his own work from someone elses.

Nope wrong. Mels car does not need a VINas its not streetable. This is according to the MTO themselves. They have said, if a vehicle is being altered changed to where only the over looks of the vehicle remains the same and will no longer be driven on a public road, then it does not require any type of Identification. It may contain a number in which can be used to verify for insurance reasons that this vehicle belongs to, but is not nessary as most altered cars are different in certain ways as to another simular car.
So, we could steal your buddies vega and you could do **** all about it. cause i could disasemble that shit in a couple hours, take pics and say heres proof i built it.

I could use a new race seat. Call me when the parts are available.

Vehicle identification number
go back to your barn get out your cattle prod and tag up some cows!!!
just cuz the "number" on a race car doesnt have the same characteristics as a OEM's actual VIN doesnt mean that its still not a
