the best is guys who know the current modification is illegal, then go driving, get yanked and charged and come online and cry and bitch and ask for ways out of the ticket..

dont get me wrong, theres plenty of cops that do illegal stuff out there and sometimes justifies the anti police chatter, but gutting your cat and getting busted and crying for it is kinda retarded.

well no cat ticket is 360 or 380 bucks, U can get to cheap cats for 80 bucks each and punch them if u are going to run no cats then u have no worries.

But there have been tests done on cats and how much power u lose with them vs over. The little power gain u get on a stock to mild car is **** all. If anything u lose bottom end and pic up a bit in top end, I rather have the extra tork were its needed.
Plus with a good Muffler and pipes and a hi flow cat u realy gain just as much if not more then most of the cut up micky mouse bullshit setups u see and hear running around.

So it looks good on the shits i hope he gets yanked again next week.

the guy who had my car before i bought it put a straight pipe through the cat so it looked like i had one, but really i didn't.
Made me mad cause i failed the emissions. BUt after i put a new one on, i didn';t notice any difference...

Cat's really don't make much difference unless you're running lots of boost. Then the restriction shows a little, but only costs you maybe 10 hp. Honestly a small price to pay: #1 to avoid a ticket. #2 keep the air a little cleaner for our kids. I got pulled into one of those a while back, and they kept me and my 2 year old there for almost an hour. In the end, no tickets because my car is set up to autocross as well as drag, so it's only .5" lower than stock. They didn't even notice. Also only 15" rims, no huge spoiler, and full exhaust. Fortunately my car never had a cat, and never has to be e-tested. 1984 Rabbit to old. They spent twenty minutes uder the car trying to find holes in the floor to. But the car only has 90,000 kms on it. Just turned 90 last weekend. So after an hour, they had nothing on me and I was allowed to take my son to the park, which is where we were headed when they pulled me over. Not even speeding.

WOW, only $380 for a no cat ticket. I know when they brought in all this emission testing they said fine where going to start a $1000 and up. They also said that the person who owned the car gets a ticket, and the person who removed or altered the cat was going to fined and if it was a garage that did it, it was going to be $5000 for them. But from what I have heard, you can get a high flow cat for under $500. So is the ticket really worth it?
