What a collection of wierdos. Drifting is an autosport just like Rally, GT, F1. It takes a high level of skill. And just because a lot of young people are into it, it dosn't make it a JDM thing. Now saying that nascar is a sport on the other hand...

Believe it or not, Nascar takes just as much skill as F1 or any other automotive racing.

It does take skill, but I will not accept it as a form of auto racing no matter what argument anyone makes so no one should bother changing my mind.

Just curious, how many of you enjoy Nascar?

Somewhat true, the camaros and novas were powersliding. The competion style drifting is more controled and the slides are a lot longer with more angle. Its not all JDM anmore either, more and more domestics cars are being used by pros. Which is actually a good thing.

I will not accept it as a form of auto racing because there is no actual 'race' occuring. But that being said, I do completely believe it is a sport.

It is an automotive sport with rules and guidlines that is won by ones skill and ability within their vehicle. I totally think its a sport.

If there are more than 1 cars competeing against each other, it's car racing. Nascar owes it's popularity to the oval track. We like to watch cars, and Drag racing is good, but the breaks between 5 second races sucks. Nascar is like rush hour at 200 mile per hour. I don't like rush hour that much at 50 km/h, and I don't know if I could do it at 200 mph. BTW before everyon starts a flaming war about NASCAR, it's pretty much the biggest sport in North America. And I like any racing. PERIOD. Drifting is cool, and I consider it racing because the point of it is to catch the other car and try to pass it. How ever at the same time you have to try to earn points by staying as close to the other car as possible. Sounds like racing to me.

Nascar is gay....

BTW, I wonder if they get dizzy after turning left @ 200 mph for 400 laps? lmao... what a stupid form of racing.

you guys have to remember that drifting in north america is very new and even newer in canada!!! you go to a D1 event and when you see the best drifters race and go head to head in a tandom drift you will change your minds....its awesome to see a car on the edge of being totally out of control actaully be in total control!!! its really fun and exciting to watch!...but only if its the pros!

i beg to differ as it is proved in the I.R.O.C. races every year, the amercians get dusted because for the most part they send nascar competitors.

nascar takes 1/10th the skill of f1 if you can prove me wrong go ahead, i am not saying f1 is the top of the heap, cause i think rally drivers are.....
