i would say its a sport , something to do, but yeah its figure skating........it started just as drag racing did people were doing it in the streets now they do it on a track and some people do it for a living

I say its more like a ballet on wheels. And it takes wicked skill to master it. SO yeah, i say sport. Its hard enough when your the only car, but when others get on there, and your drifting around each other... and competeing at that! SO really if theres comp, then i say SPORT!
some of those cars are sick...watching the World of Outlaws in Ransomville is pretty cool. those little cars pulling wheelies down the straightaways...
Funny how everyone forgot about oval dirt track racing... that's drifting, just not called drifting.
I love when they cover that racing on Speed. World of outlaws ROCKS!!! BTW silver90, if it requires skill, is fast, dangerous, and has the possibility of crashes, fire, lots of smoke and cars, it has to be fun therefore it's a sport.

Hey what ever turns their crank, as mentioned Sprint cars been doing it for decades, hell even Nascar use to dirt track it. New name for an old sport. California thing!
