i think the sign for dangerous materials is for over a certain amount. under a specific amount you might not need it.

and as far as the right hand drive sticker, you only require it if you have no (or no working) turn signals, so that following drivers know which way to look for the hand signals.

Nitrous is 100% legal, you may only transport up to a 10lb bottle, must be safely strapped in, it can be hooked up. BUT

If you do anything wrong, like speed 30 over not have it safely strapped in say bye bye car

Correct, it's legal to have in your can, and even legal to have hooked up and functional...

But your insurance company is what is going to be the problem.. because if they find out you have that in your car, you can kiss your policy goodbye...

You have to determine what it's worth to you...

What people don't seem to realise is that the same apply's to turbo and S/C added to an engine... if the insurance company ever found out you boosted your car.. it would be over.

Theoretically, a regular insurance policy doesn't even allow you to change your head unit...

Every single modifcation needs to be cleared with them if you want to keep your policy in the even that something happens...

Some might be ****s about them.. others might not care at all...

Just know what the possible outcomes may be in the end.

OK, maybe this is old news but I saw an official rule book about car mods in Ontario for sale at Walmart in the automotive section. Its about 1/2 inch thick and 20 bucks. This has the Govt of Ontario seal on it so it appears to be official. I think this would be a good buy and keep it handy for future issues, like NOS.

As for the insurance company, they are useless as T!Ts on a bull so they can kiss my a$$ and here is a picture for them too....

Again... It doesn't really matter what the MTO/Gov't/HTA says... because IF you modify your car even in a legal way according to that book or anything else... YOU STILL HAVE TO TELL U'R INSURANCE!

And then they'll tell u they won't insure you because of the modifications done to the vehicle.. and then you'll have to goto facility to insure u'r car @ 5x the rate you were paying before.

Unless you have all the angles covered ie. Insurance, MTO, HTA, etc... there's not even a point in asking a question about legality...

It only a matter of question of WHEN you're going to run out of luck and something happens and doesn't go your way.

Thanks for the insight, insurance is always a bitch. My rate's fairly low now, and I'd like to keep it that way

In that case.. you might want to make your car a low key as possible... meaning look as stock as possible.. not too low.. no dark tint, no loud mufflers or bright/flashing lights...

And the most important, adapt your driving style to tho's around you so you don't stick out...

That way the chances of getting pulled over are to a minimum...

Not exactly, i.e. my ins. company will allow changes in audio equipment of up to $2,500 without it ever being mentioned. I also know that my ins. company will allow modifications as long as the car passes cert/safety, and has a report or appraisal as to what was done. The main thing is when you get into a claim situation, don't expect them to cover what you didn't insure
I know I have seen policies that have nitrous listed as being used. . .
