I got a new exhaust system a few weeks ago, and it's too ****ing loud. I hate it. It's a 2.25" system, with high flow magnaflow cat, and a magnaflow muffler with dual 3" outs..

I drove it like that for a while,b ut then bought an 18" resonator and put it on. It's still too loud for my liking. I want it to sound stock, or if need be, be a bit louder. I hate this shit of people eharing me coming when i get to 4000+ rpm...


Does anyone make exhaust silencers for 3" exhausts?

apparently resonators need to be installed in a proper direction.. i know, i didnt believe it either... so, did you do that right?

How do you know what direction? There is no indication of anything on it. So, I have no idea. I tihnk so, casue it IS quiter, just not as quiet as I'd like.

I'm thinking about a new muffler. That will be the last resort though.

I don't need a 3" resonator. I need a 3: silencers. unless that's what you meant.

^^^ Do you really need that muffler? Sounds like a PITA to me for ya and who knows when the cops are going to bust your B@LLS over it. Magnaflow makes quieter mufflers, you just have to ask for them from the supplier you go to.

resonator quiets the sound down.. yes they are directional, least the one i got from a member here. i paid $90 for a stainless steal 3".

you might want to try adding the resonator after the muffler.

2tone, I think his muffler has twin tips, cant add after it. I may be wrong......

yeah I didn't see any markings at all on my resonator. What make was yours?
I got my SS 18" resonator for 60 bucks.

I can't put it after the muffler. The muffler on my car is located at the very end, behind the bumper. The tips come off it.

i would say blame the muffler for the resonating sound... you might need to change it up

Dont remember the make, but i tell ya, if you got yours for $60 and its 3" SS, ill go through you next time

When i ran my full exhaust with muffler i dynod 130 less RWHP I was def. running the wrong muffler, because the resonator shouldnt cause that much resistence.

I really don't want to change the muffler. This stupid ****ing exhaust system has already cost me enough money. Either I will live with it, or I guess I"ll have to change it up. I'll keep looking for a silencer (the type that goes in the tip) for now..
