its not hard GM comes out with some decent cars and rapes you with the pricing .......the only thing gm has going for them now is the vette and that new impala ss and after 02 their trucks even got ugly

I heard that GM spent more money on their employee's health plans then on steel last year. That's pretty crazy.

^^^ I understand how much our economy depends on it. So why isnt GM and Ford taking this issue seriously? If they truly understood how much is riding on this industry, they would team up with companies like Audi and such. The Chrysler / Mercedes merger is killing the competition on a domestic level and I am sorry but it is time for GM and Ford to put up or shut up. They have a few good products yes, but most of it is so old and out dated, they need to retire their design and engineering staff and get some fresh blood in there or they will cease to exist. The choice belongs to them.

Ford fired all their senior designers and engineers and then brought in a whole load of "fresh blood"... the result... the Ford Focus and it's unbelieveable amount of recalls. Yeah that doesn't really work. It sounds like a good idea on an internet message board but in the real world, young automotive engineers are too inexperienced.

GM's products are not shit, it's more a matter of aesthetics then mechanics
