I have a new project in mind. Not going into large detail.
The only thing i would like to know is if anyone knows where i can get 350 or 400 small blocks. Used... in running condition.
Wrecking yards are almost a waste of time looking for reasonable motors these days.
Look on autotrader for cars/trucks that have them in it. My dads friend bought an old dually truck for 500 bucks. A tree fell on it, and crushed the cabin. He got a good 350 from it (dropped it into his other truck) driveshafts, wheels, rear end etc.
Look for an old 80's blazer or jimmy. They generally had 350's or 400's. And usually 4 bolt mains. Also same era 3/4 and 1 ton vans. My 1980 1ton high rider van had a 350 4 bolt in it.
most people that sell 350 chevs are garbage motors, your best bet is get one out of a truck (4 bolt main) or do alot of research on block numbers lots of people sell 305's as 350's which you have to watch out for....

I think a good bet would be to find, assuming you're looking for a chevy small block, is a repair or performance shop that deals with a lot of chevys. I bet they'll find the best deals and come across used motors all the time
