^ If he swapped the 3SGTE into the first gen, he'd have to use the SW20 3SGTE transmission because of the different bellhousing. I think axles from a supercharged AW11 MR2 are a direct fit, which reduces a lot of the headache. The shift cables are also already in the correct spot.

If I were you, I'd be looking for a first gen MR2 from the USA. They are a lot more common down there, and chances are that most of the cars would be in far better condition then anything found up here because there isn't as much snow in the US.
