In the Windows folder, there are many folders (all in blue) that start out with $NtUninstall. Those $NtUninstall folders are created when you install a Microsoft Service Pack, a hot fix, or certain security updates.
My XP home only cost me about 115. It's worth it to have the install cd. If you get XP, make sure it's with service pack 2. Otherwise, it won't recognize a huge hard drive, and it may not format properly.

hrmm.. service pack two is basterized. I refuse to use it, or install it on any machine at this current time.
I have yet to see any issues with xp corp and hard drive partition sizing, and or formatting issue with service pack 1.
Ages ago there was a glitch that when you went to format one of the drives it may format your other secondaries, i believe thats all solved now.
Its good to buy, support Bill gates.. otherwise, you can surely find a copy or get one from someone.
That stuff is normal. They're related to Windows patches, and I *THINK* it may be so you can revert back to previous patches if you have an issue.
The SAFEST thing you can do for your computer is go to Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, "View" tab, and click "Do not show hidden files and folders." No offense
Newbs, those are temp files... delete them, it's safe. They are generally created by installs or uninstalls and should they get deleted by Windows, but as we all know, "should"="sometimes" with M$.
