Ok... I really want to get one of these new Opterons (146), and the DFI Lanparty board...
Now.... I have a big question...
I want to buy the bare minimum at this time... which means for me.. CPU, Mainboard, and Video Card...
Will I get by if I leave everthing stock on my 350W Enermax Noisetaker PS?
don't get me wrong I will upgrade my PS within the month so that I can OC... but if I can run on it on my current PS @ stock settings then I'd rather do that.
Is it possible?

You would need a 20 pin to 24 pin adapter to run that power supply. It simply isn't going to be enough to feed that LanParty.
If you're looking for amazing performance, go with the OCZ PowerStream 520 or if you want to save a couple bucks and get similar performance, you can get the OCZ ModStream 520.
When looking for power supplies, watts isn't your main concern, look for how many Amps it supplies on the +12V rail. Anything above 28 will be great.

Ok then forget it.. lol... I'll just have to get the PSU right away then...
And for $30 more I mind as well get the Power Stream 520...
Now if only Infonec will get tho's damn CPU's in stock!

NVR, u can use ur current PUS on that board, it WILL work...just dont expect to OC with that MB...
Im using a standard 20-pin ATX PSU, an enermax 465 Whisper series on my MSI Neo 4 Platinum MB and it requires a 24 ATX14V 1.1 connector aswell...u CAN however use a 20 pin also, its just not recomended for OC'n really..
Im running the same 350watt Enermax PSU as u on my MSI Neo 2 PLainum system thats OC'd to 2.75GHz 100% stable on a A64 3000+ Venice...
And my Neo 4 system is at 2.70Ghz...
It can be done, trust me.
I do recomend u get a better PSU thoguh if u plan on running at higher OC speeds.
Ur current Athlon XP Thoroughbred 'B' sucks up more juice than Athlon 64's do. Especialyl now that AMD has gone to 90nm fabrication.

No that's for sure... I was gonna run it totally stock till I get a more powerful PSU... But I'm sure even stock it should be faster then my 2600+

I know they're good PSU's thats why I was thinking it would be able to run it @ stock settings.
But thanks!
