I see there are some computer pros here and I was wondering if there is anyone out here that could help me fix/increase the performance of my PC.
I know z28metalhead, 5point, etc and some others know their shit, at least it seems that way from what I read.....lol.
Any of you guys willing to help a brother out or can recommend a place I can go?
Beer is included....PM me
Thanks.

I'm sure someone will be willing to build you a new pc for next to nothing - if not free (plus cost of parts). It's not overly hard, but just takes a bit of time.
Make sure you have a list of system requirements (or at least what you plan on doing with the computer) ready so when someone asks, you can tell them.
If you're looking into making your current pc faster, do the same thing but make a list of what you have now and what you want to do. Normally a format and some RAM will do the trick, but it all depends what you have now.
I'm mainly looking into making my current pc faster. I want to maximize it's performance, not necessarily buy new items (just some extra ram which is all I need...i think). I think there is some issues with it which I'm not sure of that is hindering it's performance. This was my brother's PC and i'm sure there is plenty of stuff that i don't need that's on it. Just don't know where to start. I keep hearing/reading about these terms of overclocking etc etc which I don't know anything about. This is where I need the help and expert tweaking.

Make sure to check for spyware, use Adware and Spybot. Both are free.
Then find a utility like Diskkeeper and de-fag your computer.
After that you should see some improvement.
Post up some system specs.. Belarc Advisor is also a great program to use.
I have spybot and checked the system and all is clean from that side. no spyware. I think I'll just have to do a re-format and start fresh. I was wanting to avoid that because i have a lot of shit I need to put on CD's before I do.
Will a poor performing computer also affect internet connection speeds? For some reason I cannot for the life of me download a large file (torrents) for the life of me. It takes DAYS. And i'm running rogers extreme. I know the effect of # of seeds etc but even when there are good seeds it still takes forever. Or when i do file transfers on MSN they take wayyy to long than they should. I've done some speed tests and they are 1/2 of what they were when I first did my test (see thread ISP Capping Torrents where I posted my speed). I clear my cache before doing the test so it gives me proper speed results.
